Jamaica -- the Grand Cayman islands ---the excitement is building. Then flashes the thought of all inclusive, midnight buffet, multiple restaurants, desserts -- yikes! As soon as I tell someone I am going on a cruise -- they tell me all about the food.
Having never been on a cruise before - -I think it is essential for me to make a tip sheet. Here are the 13 tips that I came up with....
- Workout every day while on the ship.
- Just because it is all inclusive -- doesn't make you have to include everything. Leave the common, every day foods alone.
- Rate your food on a scale of 1 - 10 -- anything that is a 7 or lower -- do not eat another bite.
- Before leaving, determine if you want to lose weight, maintain your weight, or if you would be ok with a small gain. Once established -- you are now connected with your goal.
- Treat your vacation like a spa vacation; eat healthy, clean foods and smaller portions.
- Focus on the classes, the scenery, and the people as opposed to the food.
- Make special requests for how you like your food prepared, dressings on the side, hold the sauce, egg whites etc.
- For each dessert you want to ear, walk 10 laps around the boat.
- When at port - -choose walking tours to enjoy the location.
- Water, water, water.
- If you bite it, write it. Track and journal your food.
- Remember that you want to come back feeling relaxed- not stressed about gaining 5 pounds.
