I went to the farmers market the other week with my friend Mandie -- and she is hooked on Sauerkraut. When we wandered over to the Farmhouse Culture booth - I had flashbacks to canned kraut -- pale and yucky.
I tried a sample of the smoked jalapeno blend and it blew my socks off!
(Here is a photo I downloaded from Farmhouse Culture website.)
I didn't bring money with me to the market -- since I just had a big box of veggies delivered. But I found out that Whole Foods carries Farmhouse Culture. I picked up a jar (that you put a deposit on and when you return it you get the deposit back) and have been loving the spicy sauerkraut.
It is fresh, flavor-full and super low in calories and is suppose to aid in digestion.
They offer sauerkraut making classes and I think I am going to take one.

My family loves sauerkraut so I would be interested in trying these blends. Thanks for the info!!

I'd love to try it but it looks like this brand is only sold in the Santa Cruz WF. I looked the brand up in my WF and they didn't have it.

Shelley -- yes, they are a local Santa Cruz brand -- but there has to be local sauerkraut goodness in New Jersey :)
