During the holidays, we often find ourselves doing things that don't have a great return on the satisfaction meter.
One of the best ways to reduce your stress is to connect to the traditions that nurture your soul the most. A method to understand the most important traditions is to rate your holiday activities to see where they land.
So -- rate away. On a scale of 1 - 10 with 1 being that is activity is a total "have to", "must", "should" and really zaps your energy -- to a 10 -- which is a "love it", "woot-woot", and a "bring it on" feeling - where do you rate the following?
- Gift Shopping
- Decorating a Tree
- Volunteering
- Holiday Music
- Gift Giving
- Work Holiday Activities
- Holiday Performances
- Cooking
- Spiritual Connection
- Mailing Packages
- Out of Town Guests
- Making Gifts
- Your Own Family Traditions
- Holiday Cards
- Family Dinners
- other
The question that is just sitting out there -- is why are you participating in anything that you rate a 7 or less? Think about either dumping it, delegating or hiring it out.
What is the one thing you will remove from your list?
